Never shying away from something new, the latest in Hansen's whisky program is a 4-year-old, 100% Triticale whisky. Triticale is a wheat/rye hybrid grain that counterbalances the spicy pepper notes of our infamous Alberta rye, with the soft sweetness of wheat. This honey-golden whisky, reminiscent of a late-harvest wheat crop draws influence from its aging process in ex-Northern Eyes rye barrels. Try and find this influence in the finishing notes! A release that we loved so much, it's bottled at cask strength.

Triticale ABV 58%  

Nose: Vanilla with a slight note of almond extract moving into a light caramel with a slight floral note 

Palate: Soft, warm caramel with a slight floral note, moving to a vanilla, pear, and pepper middle. 

Finish: A lingering light tobacco and dark chocolate finish, maintaining the sweetness of vanilla and pear notes.
