About Hansen Distillery
Alberta-born whisky, crafted the hard way — grain to glass, no shortcuts.
Hansen Distillery didn’t start in a boardroom. It started in sheds and backyard stills — a family tradition of making shine the honest way, with nothing but patience, fire, and a stubborn belief that good whisky has to earn its name.
What began as a local obsession became Edmonton’s own whisky workshop. We’ve been pushing Canadian craft distilling forward ever since — not quietly, not politely, but with heart and flavour and a whole lot of Alberta pride.
Today, our whisky is rooted in local grain, aged in oak, and bottled with purpose. Not just a family history. A Canadian whisky story we want to share.
Quality First
From moonshine to rye, we start with great ingredients, meticulous distillation, and hand-crafted care. Every time.
Bold & Distinctive
Our whisky isn't shy. It's dynamic, expressive, and unapologetically Canadian rye. You'll know it when you taste it.
Evolving Legacy
Our roots are in tradition, but our vision is future-forward — embracing innovation without losing what makes us us.
Community
We live here. In Alberta, in backyards and bars, in cheers with friends telling stories over a drink. This one's for you.
We make Whisky that Matters
We’re not here by accident. We’re not here for nostalgia.
We make whisky by conviction — to honour a family tradition born off moonshine, rebellion, and resilience. To redefine what Canadian craft whisky can be. And to put Edmonton on the global whisky map. Not quietly. Boldly.
It’s a life lived in grain, fire, oak, patience, and pride.
Every bottle we make starts with a question: where did it come from, why is it different, and what should you taste? The answer is always the same — Alberta. Character. Something real.
We’re bold without being loud. Authentic without being nostalgic. Relentlessly local, unapologetically Canadian.
"Whisky should be honest. Raw at birth. Complex with time — like the people who make it. No pretension. No shortcuts. Just relentless pursuit of flavour and legacy."
