The journey to crafting the perfect Oat Milk Cream liqueur was a long one – filled with collaboration, creativity, and science. We heard from you that many of the dairy-free and gluten-free spirits left a lot to be desired – many were thin, chalky, had poor mouthfeel, or disappointing taste. We set out to make something that showcased the luxuriousness of a traditional Hansen cream – without the dairy. 

Partnering with NAIT’s Centre for Culinary Innovation, Hansen spent four years crafting the perfect spirit that balanced the quality of the spirit that you know and love, with the sustainability that matches your dietary and lifestyle needs.


We at NAIT’s Centre for Culinary Innovation are always looking to support companies to find innovative solutions to unique challenges. Plant-based milk alternatives are already challenging due to their inherent instability, and introducing the alcohol component added an extra layer of complexity. As food scientists and chefs, however, our total understanding of ingredient functionality was instrumental in achieving the desired results and we’re excited to celebrate this launch with our partners and friends at Hansen Distillery.
