End of the Line Moonshine Holiday Ham

The #HansenSpirit is alive and well this Thanksgiving weekend, and we thought we’d work in some of our spirits to another mouth-watering recipe that you can impress your dinner guests with. This End of the Line Moonshine Holiday Ham is slow cooked in a crock pot to infuse the unique wheat-intense flavours of the moonshine, that also help to break down the meat to keep it moist and tender.

Ingredients

  • 1 large ham (bone-in), make sure it will fit into the crock of your slow cooker
  • 3 cups of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 large oranges
  • 1 cup of Hansen Distillery End of the Line Moonshine
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 large white onion
  • 1 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp of ground cloves
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Use olive oil to grease the inside of your crock
  2. Place the ham into the crock
  3. Cut the oranges and onion in thick 1/2 inch slices and place them around the ham
  4. Sprinkle the ground cloves all over the ham
  5. Pack the brown sugar on top of the ham
  6. Add the minced garlic on top of the packed brown sugar
  7. Pour the apple cider vinegar over the top of the ham allowing the brown sugar to dissolve down the ham into the crock
  8. Pour the End of the Line Moonshine over the ham
  9. Cook on low for 8 – 10 hours basting every 1-2 hours
  10. When done, it should be fall off the bone delicious
  11. You can use some of the sauce in the crock and add it to unsweetened apple sauce to serve with the ham at your holiday feast
  12. Enjoy!
